Hello lovelies! I’ve been struggling trying to decide what to post about lately because my life has just been pretty boring lately and I didn’t really have anything exciting to post about right now but I am working on some things I want to do soon!
But I thought considering I’ve been busy in a different area I thought I’d show you guys what I’ve been up to!
So most of you will know that I am an aspiring Make-Up artist, and in the spirit of Halloween nearly being upon us whilst also needing to make my portfolio I thought I’d let my creative side completely out! *Pre warn; this is a kinda long post but it is basically all photos so sorry if you have to scroll for ages, it’s only pictures though!
I started by doing a Skeleton look inspired by Lady GaGa’s Born This Way video, it was super fun and probably one of my favourite finished looks!
So that was my Skeleton look!
After this I decided it would be fun to do Pop Art/Comic inspired make-up! This had such a cool finish and I genuinely looked like some sort of cartoon character, I was definitely proud!
That was one of my favourite looks to do, it was super fun and drawing bottom lashes on is one of my favourite things to do! Now the next thing I decided to do kick started my craze on doing my favourite characters! I absolutely adore Tim Burton, I love all of his movies and all of his characters so I decided to do my own interpretation of The Queen of Hearts from his version of Alice in Wonderland, this was definitely a more ‘pretty’ version!
And that’s the final look! It’s definitely a more girly version if you wanted something for a fancy dress! Now the next look I tried was super exciting for me, I decided to transform myself into my favourite superhero…Spider-Man! Or should I say Spider-Girl? I really REALLY loved this, it was definitely a challenge getting everything perfect and symmetrical but I loved the finished product!
So that’s my finished Spider-Girl look, move over Andrew Garfield! I literally loved this so much, being Spidey is definitely a lot of fun! After doing Spidey inspired I was still in a superhero mood, and my lovely brother let me attack his face and turn him into my version of Heath Ledger as The Joker in The Dark Knight (another personal favourite)
I mean this one had a pretty terrifying outcome, my brother was completely unrecognisable but he loved it and I was super happy with the results! So doing something a bit scary moves me onto my next look, as it’s coming up to Halloween I thought who could I turn myself into that’s pretty scary? and I chose none other than my favourite character of all time, from yet another Tim Burton movie, Jack Skellington or Jack The Pumpkin King from my favourite movie ever, The Nightmare Before Christmas! Honestly this had such an amazing finish and I was quite impressed with myself if I’m being honest!
Kinda scary/creepy right? I absolutely loved this and thought it looked so cool, definitely going to re-create this one for Halloween! Now you’re going to notice a pattern here, I loved turning myself into something completely different with Jack where you couldn’t really tell I was a human, so I continued with my love for Tim Burton and did another favourite character, Emily, The Corpse Bride! Now I must be honest, if I had to pick just one, this has been my utter favourite out of everything, I was so scared to do it incase something went wrong but I was so happy with the turnout and yeah here it is!
And that was my final Emily look! I just loved doing this so much and was so happy with the results, it’s kinda creepy though right? Now for the last crazy character look I want to show you I did like 3 days ago actually! Now don’t be too surprised…it’s another Tim Burton character! But I kind of feel like it’s ok because it’s also a Disney character like the Queen of Hearts, but this time I decided to become Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter, and this look was just so fun because you can literally go as crazy and as eccentric as you like!
I loved the Mad Hatter look so much, I felt so masculine yet so feminine! Now for the last and final look, it’s nothing as crazy as the others and it’s not a character, this is just general ‘glamour’ makeup, but I have inspired it by Kat Von D, I absolutely LOVE her and I think her makeup is gorgeous! So I did my own take on her!
And there you have it! My final look! I really hope (if any of you bothered to look through every single photo) you enjoyed this post! I also hope it’s given some Halloweeny inspiration! I just also want to say this post was in no way me ‘bragging’ or ‘showing off’ I simply did it because I am proud of what I have been doing through creating my portfolio and I thought it would be fun to share it with you guys! Also I have made a purely make-up Tumblr blog – daisysface.tumblr.com – so if you’re feeling friendly please go check it out and follow if you like! I’ve also made a make-up Instagram, again, just daisysfacex! So please have a look at those if you like!
Thank you for reading (well looking) guys!
Until next time, xoxo
